There’s plenty of advice online about reducing cloud costs. It typically comes down to the following:
- Analyze spending, attribute costs to teams, and configure budgets and alerts.
- Remove redundant resources and automatically shut down unused environments.
- Scale down underutilized instances, evaluate different instance types.
- Review backup retention policies and choose the most cost-effective storage for each use case.
- Purchase savings plans and reserved instances, and consider using spot instances where applicable.
- Explore services from other cloud providers.
All of these practices make perfect sense, and they’re an important part of our cloud optimization work. But there’s an opportunity to go further.
Advanced optimization
The biggest cost savings often come from changing how an application works. Agencies focused solely on cloud cost optimization rarely explore these opportunities because they require a deep understanding of the system and take significantly more time and effort.
Because we build software for our clients, we can assess how an application is designed and identify changes that could substantially reduce infrastructure costs without compromising performance or uptime.
Save 50% or more
In our experience, clients optimizing their cloud costs for the first time typically save at least 30%. Savings of 50% are well within reach, and some clients save even more.

Initial assessment takes just a few days
- We sign an NDA and get read-only access to your infrastructure and code.
- We review your setup, talk to your team, and share our initial findings within a few days.
- Together, we agree on an action plan, then put it into practice.
FAQ
How much does it cost?
We start with a free assessment to determine whether there’s significant potential for savings. We then charge by the hour and provide regular progress updates, so you stay in control of how far we go. In most cases, the savings cover the cost of our cloud optimization work within a few months.
Will there be any downtime when we implement the optimizations?
Most likely not. We have extensive experience updating production infrastructure without downtime. In any case, we'll put together a plan and coordinate with you before making any changes.
How much involvement will you need from our engineering team?
The initial assessment requires minimal involvement, typically one or two meetings with your technical lead. As we move into reviewing the proposed optimization plan, we'll need closer collaboration with your engineering team.
How soon can you start?
Free consultations are typically available within one business day. Once the paperwork is complete and we have system access, we begin the initial assessment right away.
